**Research Symposium GIScience for Environmental Change (GeoChange)**

**Call for Extended Abstracts**

We would like to invite you to participate in the research symposium on
GIScience for Environmental Change ("GeoChange"), scheduled to take place in
Campos do Jordão (São Paulo), Brazil. The GeoChange research symposium is the
second cooperative workshop organized by the National Institute for Space
Research (INPE) and the Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi), University of
Münster. The goals of the GeoChange symposium are to discuss and initiate
solutions to modeling environmental change.

Potential contributors are invited to submit extended abstracts of 4-6 pages
(including figures, tables, references etc. and written in English) for the
following tracks:

Ø Data sources for GeoChange research
Ø Sensing change
Ø Change and scale -- spatial and temporal
Ø Combining statistical and ontological models

Selected contributions are invited for presentation at the symposium and will
be published in the symposium proceedings. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS will be
made available after August 4, 2010 at:

**Call for applications of Brazilian young researchers for a travel grant**

Brazilian young researchers can apply for a symposium grant which is a 500 EUR
lump sum for travel support. Please visit
