Looking for Sensor example for vertical profile

TSlawecki
I am continuing to work on implementing 52N SOS instances to handle a number of different sensor configurations. One common configuration is a moored buoy with sensors deployed at different depths along the mooring cable, so we might have temperature@surface, temperature@1m, temperature@5m, etc.

I have so far been using InsertSensor to create a procedure for the buoy and then to create individual procedures for each sensor (temperature, pH, etc.) at the buoy, and for convenience creating and using result templates to add data. I could continue the pattern and add procedures temperature_1m, temperarature_5m, etc. However, this means that our catalog/discovery tool must recognize that each of these procedures represents temperature, which is extra work.

Is it feasible to set up something that would wrap all three temperature sets into a single temperature procedure? Are there examples available for inspection? If so, would result templates still work?

Thanks!

Tad

Hi Tad,

in the development version of the 52N SOS (4.4.0) we have implemented
the om:parameter which can be used to store the information about the depth.
In the test client of this version you can find the
InsertObservation_Depth example which shows how to define the
om:parameter. But the om:parameter is not yet supported for the result
handling (result templates) and and the om:parameter is not yet filterable.

Best,
Carsten
