Problem with SOS-SES Feeder

pmuvhali
Hi!

I am having a problem with SOS-SES Feeder, the error that i find in the log of sos-ses-feeder is "SES http://localhost:8080/SES-2010/services.
No connection to SES-Try again in 5 seconds. I am using 52nSESv1.0.0. What is the cause of the above mantioned problem? Another question is which "url am i suppose to put in the 'tsos' table generated in the pgAdmin?

Best regards,
Peter

Did you check that the URL of the SES 1.0.0 is matching the
configuration of the feeder?

The URL to the SOS endpoint you want to feed into the SES.

Hope this helps.

Re: Problem with SOS-SES Feeder

pmuvhali
Thanks very much for your help. Now i have another question, when i click on the SOS-SES Feeder deployed in the tomcat it does not open its Graphical User Interface and it says 52n-sensorweb-sos-ses-feeder is not available. What is the cause of that? Because there is no error which is displayed in the log of sos-ses-feeder.

Best regards,
Peter

That is correct because:
1. the feeder has no gui
2. the feeder is not responding to HTTP-GET which is send if you just
access the application via the browser.

As this being a prototypical incubator development, please refer to the
code and take a very deep look.

Hope this helps,
Eike

Hi Eike,
I have read your reponse and I have the same problem with Peter, that is, nothing happens when I click the SOS-SES Feeder deployed in the tomcat. Your response certainly answer my question and now I have no idea what I should do with the deployed SOS-SES-Feeder.So I'm here to turn yo you for help. By the way I have deployed the SOS & SES on my tomcat, too. Looking forward to your response.Thank you.
Best regards,
Dana

Re: Problem with SOS-SES Feeder

Henning Bredel-2

do you have configured SOS and SES properly?

however, you could have a look at the logfiles to see if there is a regular getobservation request from the feeder. to make this work you havr put in the required parameters in the appropriate tables.

we once used sos ses feder as a bridging component to generate a ses input stream. i.e.it was embedded in a concrete infrastructure and the acutal query parameters were inserted and managed by the SensorWebClient.

so probably you need such a component too, to fill in the parameters needed for each ses input stream (in other words to create that particular getobservation request), or do it by hand.

Re: Problem with SOS-SES Feeder

Dana
Hi henning,
I've read your reply. Thanks for your help and I have three questions here:
    1. I've looked up my sos-ses-feeder log file and I couldn't get anything from it let alone seeing if there is a regular getobservation request from the feeder from the log. I have uploaded my log file as an annex. Can you get some useful messages from it?
2.How can I make a GetObservation request by hand without using the sensorwebclient and where should I send this request (in the SOS or etc)?
3.Besides, you mentioned it that I need to put in the required parameters in the appropriate tables to make it work. Here I'm also not very clear about how to put in the parameters in the table(I 've created a database called sossesfeeder).
I'm here to turn to you for help.Do you have any solutions?
Best regards,
Dana

Re: Problem with SOS-SES Feeder

Hey Dana,

the log files should be written into the tomcat's logs directory. Please
have a look at there. BTW: you posted the log configuration file ...
There you could set the log level to DEBUG to get more detailed
information from the logs.

See the SOS documentation how to send a GetObservation request. If you
are using a 52°North SOS, there is a client with example requests.
