Running RestWS errors!

Sana CES
Hi everybody,

I am going to test the OX-RestWS application, for that I tried to run it through Eclipse by checking the project out with SVN but  error has been published, in addition to some warnings!! like that:

Sana,
Usually, eclipse should automatically compile the classes (that's why
it's in comments in the build.xml). Do you find class files in the
classes folder?

When the ant script runs successfully, you'll get a war file as the
result. That can be deployed in a Tomcat.

Cheers,
Arne

Re: Running RestWS errors!

No Arne, I didn't find classes in the classes file.
An error of running has been outputed like this:

BUILD FAILED
/home/user/Workspace1/conf/build.xml:42: /home/user/Workspace1/classes not
found.

Where do You think is the problem?

Sana.

I suspect, that you should find out where your path

  /home/user/Workspace1/classes

is defined and change it to

  /home/user/Workspace1/build/web/WEB-INF/classes

Re: Running RestWS errors!

Hi henning,

I have verified from the path, the build has succefully runned, but the
classes didn't copied on the "classes" directory, there is only one file
copied "log4j.properties", this is the output of the build.xml:

Buildfile: /home/user/workspace-sana/conf/build.xml

clean:
      [delete] Deleting directory /home/user/workspace-sana/build
      [delete] Deleting directory /home/user/workspace-sana/dist

init:
       [mkdir] Created dir:
/home/user/workspace-sana/build/web/WEB-INF/classes
       [mkdir] Created dir: /home/user/workspace-sana/build/web/logs
       [mkdir] Created dir: /home/user/workspace-sana/dist

build:

config:
        [copy] Copying 1 file to
/home/user/workspace-sana/build/web/WEB-INF
        [copy] Copying 33 files to
/home/user/workspace-sana/build/web/WEB-INF/lib
        [copy] Copying 1 file to
/home/user/workspace-sana/build/web/WEB-INF/classes
[copy] Copying 1 file to /home/user/workspace-sana/build/web

mkWar:
         [war] Building war: /home/user/workspace-sana/dist/52n-OXF-WS.war

all:
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 19 seconds

What's the problem? shall I make the javac commands?

Regards,
Sana.

Hi again,

I think that I resolved the problem: I have modified the class path in the
"build.properties" file like this: "classes=../src/org/n52/oxf/rest/"
And it is runned succesfully and i got all the classes from the source to
the /usr/lib/apache-tomcat-6.0.26/webapps/52n-OXF-WS/WEB-INF/classes.
Hope that is right..
I got a war files that I copied and integrated into tomcat
(/usr/lib/apache-tomcat-6.0.26/webapps/)  like You adviced me to do. So
when I restart the tomcat and I lanced it, a home page has appeared like
that I attached to this email. So how can I fetch the Restfulsos
application?
Plz If I am not in the right direction notify me.

10000 thanks,
Sana.

Re: Running RestWS errors!

Henning Bredel-2
Sana, looks good.

To access the app try

  http://<server>:<port>/<webappname>

For example

  http://localhost:8080/RestfulSOS

If your application is named RestfulSOS.

Best

Subject: Re: [52N SWE] Running RestWS errors!

Hi again,

I think that I resolved the problem: I have modified the class path in the
"build.properties" file like this: "classes=../src/org/n52/oxf/rest/"
And it is runned succesfully and i got all the classes from the source to
the /usr/lib/apache-tomcat-6.0.26/webapps/52n-OXF-WS/WEB-INF/classes.
Hope that is right..

Re: Running RestWS errors!

Sana CES
The Webapp is named /52n-OXF-WS/, but I couldn't browse it!:(
an error msg has been outputed like this:
The requested resource (/52n-OXF-WS/) is not available.
I stopped and restart the apache tomcat but the same error appeared!! the
52n-OXF-WS file exists in the webapp folder but I couldn't access to it.

Sorry for being so noisy this day but..what should I do?
Sana.

Hi again,

Plz just one more question, the resulted classes that shuld be founded
into "classes" folder should be in .java or .class format? Because after
compilation, I found the classes are in .java format, so I think that due
to this the problem of unaccessible web application has been launched.

Regards,
Sana.
